Excellent on so many levels. Everything ran smoothly starting with the airport pickup in Quito, when our flight was delayed to each daily excursion that went like clockwork. And this is in spite of weather can can change or delay things. All accommodations were appropriately good. Tour was full. No down time which maybe could be adjusted slightly. Accommodated all levels of birders and photographers. Benny and the local guide, Nelson, were so knowledgeable and helpful both in the field and at lodges. They also made it fun. Food was plentiful and mostly pretty good. And if the birds are most important, you can not get a better duo of Benny and Nelson to find them for you. The van was roomy and comfortable enough. They procured a very safe and able driver.

Incredible location, superb local and indigenous guides, and, most importantly, SO MUCH FUN! If you’ve never been to the Amazon and want to feel like you’re immersed in a nature documentary, please consider this trip - it’s a fantastic dive into the birds, other wildlife and human cultures of an area that’s unlike anywhere else on earth. Benny keeps it fun and lighthearted while also birding hard to maximize the number of species seen, and the local guides who joined us were truly some of the best in the world. Sani Lodge was. Comfortable retreat in the rainforest, and I’ll never forget our dark early mornings paddling on the glassy lagoon. Can’t wait for my next adventure with Birds by BIJS!
